Double Girder EOT Crane is a type of overhead crane that consists of two parallel beams that support a Hoist & Crab / Trolley. Double Girder EOT Cranes are used for heavy duty applications that require high lifting capacity, long span and high service class. Some of the advantages of double girder EOT Cranes are:

  • They can lift heavier loads than single girder cranes, up to 200 tons.
  • They can span longer distances than single girder cranes, up to 60 meters.
  • They can provide more headroom and hook height than single girder cranes, as the hoist is mounted between the beams rather than under them.
  • They can accommodate more complex lifting mechanisms, such as magnets, grabs, or rotating hooks.

Some of the common components of Double Girder EOT Cranes are:


Bridge Girder Beams: Primary structural component that spans the width of the Crane. It supports the trolley and hoist and connects to the end trucks.
End Trucks / End Carriages: Located at both ends of the Girders, these components house the wheels that enable the crane’s movement along the runway beams.
Movable Hoist: The device that lifts, positions and lowers the load using a wire rope or chain and a hook.
Trolley: The device that carries the hoist along the length of the beam. It can be manual or motorized.
Electrical Systems: Powers the crane’s movements and include motors, controllers and power supply lines
Controls: The interface used by the operator to direct the crane’s movements and lifting operations.
